The OECD-GVH Regional Centre for Competition (RCC) held a four-day competition law seminar in Málaga from 15 to 18 September 2026, bringing together newly recruited staff members from competition authorities across the RCC’s beneficiary countries.
The seminar was organised in cooperation with the University of Málaga and the Andalusian Competition Authority and brought together 30 participants from 16 competition authorities, alongside 11 experts from competition authorities and academia.
The training aimed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the key areas of competition law, while also giving them practical insight into the day-to-day work of competition authorities and the methods used in competition law enforcement. Particular emphasis was placed on sharing practical experience, discussing common challenges and fostering professional dialogue and the exchange of experience among participants and experts. The four-day programme covered a broad range of fundamental competition law topics, with a particular focus on combating cartels, merger control, investigations into abuses of dominance and competition advocacy. The theoretical presentations were complemented by practical exercises based on situations resembling real-life cases. These sessions allowed participants to apply the knowledge gained during the training, discuss practical challenges and further develop their enforcement skills.
