The OECD-GVH Regional Centre for Competition (RCC) organised a two-day judicial training programme in Budapest on 14-15 May 2026, with the financial support of the European Commission.
The programme aimed to provide judges from European Union Member States and eligible beneficiary countries of the RCC with up-to-date knowledge and practical insights in the field of competition law.
This seminar focused on the topic of abuse of dominance, with particular attention devoted to its analytical framework and theoretical foundations. Over the course of the two-day event, participants explored different forms of abusive conduct, including exclusivity arrangements, excessive pricing, and tying and bundling. The discussions were complemented by an in-depth review of relevant EU case law, creating an opportunity for participants to exchange practical experiences and perspectives.
The training brought together 32 judges from 21 countries, reflecting the international diversity of the event. Representatives of the Court of Justice of the European Union and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), alongside experts from judiciaries and competition authorities, delivered comprehensive theoretical and practical sessions, ensuring a high-level professional dialogue throughout the programme.
We are also pleased to announce that the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) has once again secured the support of the European Commission for the organisation of four additional judicial training programmes in the 2026-2028 period.
